TOP 100 Actors and Actresses Working Today

After many months of development, I've finished one of the most challenging posts I've ever developed. Many movies watched, many names shortlisted and some last-minute changes (of course), I present you the TOP 100 Actors and Actresses Working Today list.
All the contenders had to meet some criteria: being part of at least one live-action project in the last 5 years (since 2019); having at least 4 distinguished performances in film, while the other 5 performances to mention have to split between turns on stage (Broadway or West End) and TV work (in case an actor doesn't have stage or TV credit, the minimum number of film performance goes 5); and having at least 9 distinguished performances on the resume.

A special note about some names that might seem to be missing for those who are less aware: figures who are currently accused of some kind of misconduct of any kind, abusive attitudes or acts of violence towards the most vulnerable will not appear on the list. Cinema and Popcorn believes those names should not receive any kind of positive promotion.

Also, today is our #1's birthday! Happy Birthday to the great Nicole Kidman: what a best way to celebrate the greatest working actress? I must confess the TOP 10 was extremely difficult to elaborate, but I'm mostly happy with the end result.

TOP 35 Actors and Actresses Under 35 Working Today - 2017

The almost annual TOP 35 Actors and Actresses Under 35 Working Today is out, with me considering the performers' performances of 2016 also. We have a few changes since last year's list, with Greta Gerwig toping the list thanks to her last 3 great performances in Mistress America , Maggie's Plan and the Oscar buzzy acting turn in 20th Century Women . Scarlett Johansson comes second with her latest distinguished performance being in 2014 ( Under the Skin ), but she managed to be at the spotligh this year thanks to her fine turns in critically acclaimed movies: Hail, Caesar! , Captain America: Civil War , The Jungle Book (voice) and Sing (voice). Emily Blunt adds another great performance to her resume in The Girl on the Train and she comes third, while Elle Fanning 's turning into one of the finest actresses and she's getting to play more adult and complex parts like The Neon Demon and 20th Century Women 's (her two best performances since Super 8 ). Today I discussed about how awful some "teen icons" are and then we talked about some exceptions. So, I decided to make a little list, a TOP 10, with the male actors that I think that will become music in an ocean of noise somewhere in the future (I did one list before, but it was a little bit pathetic and I didn't justify my choices). BEST PICTURE BEST ACTOR IN A LEADING ROLE Leonardo DiCaprio is a true movie star and the enthusiastic reception of Paul Thomas Anderson is earning him a ton of rave reviews while the movie seems to be a pretty solid contender in virtually every category at the Oscars. Timothée Chalamet seems to have landed the a charismatic movie star role in MARTY SUPREME while Danial Day-Lewis is acting (and Oscar royalty) and he looks marvelous in ANEMONE trailer. Jeremy Allen White is fresh from THE BEAR TV series glory and his performance as Bruce Springsteen has already earned him raves (and the AMPAS can't resist a musician's biopic).
