The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo trailer - the red-band European one!

BLOODY WICKED! David Fincher + Led Zeppelin + Trent Reznor + adaptation of Millenium trilogy = MOST SEE MOVIE OF THE YEAR! Now seriously, such a great trailer! A really well-done one! Can't wait to see this version of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo . In normal conditions, I would say that doing a Hollywood adaptation of the book when the Swedish version was released last year in USA and was a commercial and critical sucess is just wrong, but Fincher is directing it... that's all! I trust this man...

Cannes Film Festival 2011 analisys: the BEST the less good and the surprises

THE BEST: 1) The Tree of Life Terrence Malick's latest movie was the darling of the festival, getting the most wanted prize of Cannes: the Palme D'Or. It was called a "motion picture for audiences with patiente", but it was also acclaimed for being such an unique masterpiece about the meaning of being alive and the meaning of death, being also a wonderful visual treat (great cinematography, great edition and beautiful shoots and visual effects). The Tree of Life fulfilled expectations and it's the proof that cinema is a "sacred" thing, being the one of the most acclaimed movies of the festival by far and it promises to be one of the best movies of the year.   2) Midnight in Paris The latest Woody Allen movie is his return to what made him special. After doing sexy movies like Match Point and Vicky Cristina Barcelona (the only Allen's movies that were critically sucessful last decade), the Master is back on fire with a more classic picture,

Oscar 2012 contenders so far: "Thor"

Genre: Drama; Action/Adventure; Science-Fiction&Fantasy; Director: Kenneth Branagh Starring: Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston and Anthony Hopkins Release date: 6th May, 2011 " Directed by noted Shakespearean Kenneth Branagh with a class-act grasp of how action works best when it defines character instead of obliterating it, Thor comes on like thunder, delivering epic fireworks that don’t neglect the dramatic sparks ignited between father and son, brother and brother, and lovers from two different worlds ." by Peter Travers in Rolling Stone " Bo Welch has created some stunning designs, with Heimdall’s Observatory, the celestial portal that connects the various realms, a particular triumph. Full-throttle fight scenes and the stunt work overall feel organic, although Branagh’s over-reliance on slanted angles and an unusual slow-mo sequence are merely distracting. MTV Movie Awards 2011 nominees and winners list

MTV Movie Awards 2011 nominees list is out since some time ago, but I only checked it today... There are a lot of good movies nominated in the major categories, but I've that feeling that the Twilight Saga will score the major number of wins, in spite of being the worst movie in competition in the Best Movie category. It's all about popularity and seeing a vampire and a girl kissing... BUT, if any other movie can beat Twilight Saga: Eclipse is Inception and if anyone else can beat Kristen Stewart in the Best Female Performance category, Emma Stone or Natalie Portman are the names that seem the strongest competition, because their performances were very popular and some people are a bit tired of seeing Twilight winning! Here's the nominees list with my winner predictions with *: BEST MOVIE Black Swan Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 1 Inception The Social Network The Twilight Saga: Eclipse * BEST MALE PERFORMANCE Daniel Radcliffe for Harry Potte
