Golden Globes 2017 nominees predictions

You know what's real fun? Predicting the Golden Globes. What makes this nominees predictions that fun? Well, you have to predict in Comedy or Musical and Drama categories and you can take it more personal because that's the essence of the globes: they go for the hottest stars of the moment (and I don't mean "hot" in the the sexy way but more in the "trendy" one). The Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) often goes after the stars they want to nominate and major box-office hits, often snubing art-house independent productions (but it can happen if the movie is too good to ignore, of course!). So, here are my Golden Globes 2017 nominees predictions (Best Original Song not included): BE ST MOTION PICTURE - DRAMA Fences Hacksaw Ridge Manchester by the Sea The Jungle Book Silence The #6 : Jackie BEST ACTOR IN A MOTION PICTURE - DRAMA Casey Affleck for Manchester by the Sea Jake Gyllenhaal for Nocturnal Animals Tom Hanks fo

Academy Awards 2017 nominees predictions: Best Director, Best Original Screenplay & Best Adapted Screenplay

BEST DIRECTOR A year full of newcomers and with some big names back to the discussion boards. Chazelle seems to be in a good position to get a well-deserved Best Director Oscar nom for the beloved and award favorite La La Land (and having Whiplash as his previous feature is a plus). Larraín is on fire thanks to both Neruda and Jackie , two splendid biopics, but it's gonn be Kennedy's widow's biopic that is going to take him far in the Best Director race. Barry Jenkins brought us one of the most beautifully shot movies of the year and one of the most sensitive tales also... the indie community is in love with Moonlight and so are critics and an Oscar nom just seems natural in this case. And then we

Academy Awards 2017 nominees predictions: Best Picture

BEST PICTURE The top category of the Academy Awards, is getting really interesting. The fun of trying to predict the nominees shortlist this soon is that there are no locks except La La Land ... but Jackie is close to "locked" status, not only because of the bravura performance of its leading lady, but mostly because of the quality cinema itself and because of Pablo Larraín who benefits from Neruda 's Best Foreign Picture buzz. And then we have the Andrew Garfield double golden picture: the Mel Gibson's war epic Hacksaw Ridge and Scorsese's Silence , both benefiting from their directors Oscar history and from early raves ( Hacksaw ) and huge award anticipation around the yet unseen Silence . Then there's this fall season film festival sensation, Moonlight , a beautifully shot three act piece of cinema about being a gay man in a black community - an independent feature that promises to make some waves during awards season with a splendid ensemble cast tha
