Academy Awards 2012 winners predictions

BEST PICTURE Because the AMPAS will want to recognize the most loved movie of the year, which is a tribute to the silent cinema era at the same time. The Artist BEST DIRECTOR Oscar voters will choose between Scorsese and the director of The Artist , but since Scorsese is a living directing leggend and Hazanavicius turned a risky project in a masterpiece and a contender for a cinema classic, I bet they will go for the French director. Michel Hazanavicius for The Artist BEST LEADING ACTOR Only a really talented performance could be able to pull such a wonderful performance without saying a single word, so Dujardin deserves to take the Oscar home, no matter against how many movie stars he's competing.  Jean Dujardin for The Artist BEST LEADING ACTRESS I think it's time to give Streep her third Oscar win: she's just too overdue and she delivered a technically perfect performance as one of the most controversial and powerful women in History - Margaret Thatche

The Academy Awards 2012 Battles: WHO'S GOING TO WIN BEST LEADING ACTRESS?

THE BEST LEADING ACTRESS BATTLE Viola Davis ( The Help ) Vs Meryl Streep ( The Iron Lady ) In one of the most interesting ones in the Best Leading Actress Oscar race, there was an ugly snub (Tilda Swinton for We Need To Talk About Kevin ), a "not-that-deserved" nomination (Glenn Close for Albert Nobbs , comparing her performance with Swinton's) and the "unexpected nomination people were expecting" to come true (Rooney Mara for The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo ), but there were locks since the beginning of the Best Actress war: Meryl Streep ( The Iron Lady ), Viola Davis ( The Help ) and Michelle Williams ( My Week With Marilyn ). Streep and Davis have been collecting the big awards and everything says one of them will win the Oscar this year, but Williams should not be ignored in the Oscar folks minds... VIOLA DAVIS - THE HELP I would say The Help gave Viola Davis her first leading role in a movie and if it is the case... what a wonderful way to prove peopl

The Academy Awards 2012 Battles: WHO'S GOING TO WIN BEST LEADING ACTOR?

THE BEST LEADING ACTOR BATTLE George Clooney ( The Descendants ) Vs Jean Dujardin ( The Artist ) While most people always claimed that Clooney is the next Best Leading Actor Oscar winner, I've always put my hopes in Jean Dujardin in what seems to be the male version of the Julie Christie ( Away From Her ) Vs Marion Cotillard ( La vie en rose ) battle for the Best Leading Actress Oscar at the Academy Awards 2008. But this time, we have a third possible upset: Brad Pitt, he's out of the main battle, but he stills alive in the race. GEORGE CLOONEY - THE DESCENDANTS Perhaps one of the most popular actors in Hollywood, Clooney benefits from his MEGA MOVIE STAR title and for the celebrity status in this Oscar race. In Alexander Payne 's  The Descendants , Clooney delivered the best acting performance of his whole career and he won a big couple of awards like the Golden Globe of Best Actor in a Motion Picture - Drama and the Critics' Choice Award of Best Actor between a

The Academy Awards 2012 Battles: WHO'S GOING TO WIN BEST PICTURE?

THE BEST PICTURE BATTLE The Artist Vs The Descendants Vs Hugo Well, after recovering from the Oscar nomination surprises and with the ceremony at the Kodak Theatre comming soon, it's time to look at the nominees and start thinking about the winners and the Best Picture category is one of the most exciting ones to predict this year. While last year, the battle was between The Social Network and The King's Speech , this year, we have 3 big contenders for a win (at leas!): Michel Hazanavicius' The Artist , Alexander Payne's The Descendants and Martin Scorsese's Hugo . THE ARTIST The Artist took home the Critics' Choice Award of Best Film, the Golden Globe of Best Motion Picture - Comedy or Musical, the PGA Award of Best Theatrical Feature, the DGA Award of Best Director ( Michel Hazanavicius ), the SAG Award of Outstanding Leading Actor in a Motion Picture ( Jean Dujardin ) and the BAFTA Award of Best Film, between others wins, and it was nominated for the
