To Our Faithful Visitors

Hello, Visitors of Cinema and Popcorn ! Ed  and I will go to college and we both will change home this weekend and we both won't have internet access in our new homes until next month, at least. We will be in different cities, but in very similar circumstances! We swear to update the blog every weekend and maybe one of us will find a way to post something in the middle of the following weeks. Academy Awards predictions will keep appearing and so will be some major cinema news! You can come here everyday and maybe find a new post, but, once again, we only promise a couple of posts during weekends. Leave some suggestions about posts you would like to see here: we are open to your opinion in order to improve the blog. Thanks very much for spending some of your time in our little blog. Kind regards/Hugs P.

Academy Awards 2012 Best Leading Actress nominees predictions (4th round)

1. Meryl Streep for The Iron Lady There's a therory that says that the AMPAS needs Meryl Streep more than Meryl Streep needs the AMPAS and I couldn't agree more! With an impressive score of 16 nominations and 2 wins, we can say that the Academy is "Streepaholic" and seeing her portraying the iconic and legendary/historic Margaret Thatcher in the biopic named The Iron Lady is almost a guarantee of Oscar nomination, specially when Thatcher had a unique speaking style and mannerisms and Streep shows it in the teaser trailer of movie. I don't use to predict an Oscar win when nominees lists aren't even out, but Streep is in dangerous contention for her third Academy Award win once Glenn Close performance in Albert Nobbs isn't the tour de force people were expecting and since Oscar voters love British real-life figures (Helen Mirren won an Oscar for The Queen and Colin Firth won for The King's Speech )... While the movie The Iron Lady may not be a very

Academy Awards 2012 Best Leading Actor nominees predictions (4th round)

1. Leonardo DiCaprio for J. Edgar The Oscar buzz around his performance is huge that if DiCaprio fails in delivering the performance prediction folks are expecting from him, I can see him not being nominated, but we are talking about Leonardo DiCaprio... One of his weakest acting features is his voice - it's not a nice one, it's not pleasant to hear - but DiCaprio has an incredible facial expressivity and he's really charismatic and magnetic on screen. Playing real-life figures is a natural Oscar-buzz generator, but when we are talking about one of the most controversial politic figures (J. Edgar Hoover), who was homossexual and is portrayed by one of the biggest movie stars of the last years, we go straightforward to a possible Oscar win. In fact, while DiCaprio is underrated for some and overrated for others, I think the recognition he gets from the cinema industry is what he really deserves (of course I think he should be nominated for an Oscar for his best performanc

Kevin Costner is out of "Unchained" and Samuel L. Jackson is in; "We Bought a Zoo" movie trailer; "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1" movie trailer;

According to Collider, " It appears that Kevin Costner won’t be starring in Quentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained after all. The actor was in negotiations to join Tarantino’s controversial western, which takes a harsh look at slavery in the 19th century as told through Tarantino’s oh-so-politically-correct pen, but now Variety’s Justin Kroll reports that the actor had to pass due to scheduling conflicts. Costner was poised to play the villainous role of Ace Woody, a man who trains male slaves to fight for the public’s amusement. Costner recently filmed his role as Clark Kent’s adoptive Earth father in Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel, and also has the History Channel miniseries The Hatfields and the McCoys and his directorial effort A Little War of Our Own on his plate so those projects may be to blame for the scheduling snafu " and the same source claims " Variety is happy to confirm Jackson will reunite with the director for Django Unchained, their fifth feature collaboration

Academy Awards 2012 Best Picture nominees predictions (4th round)

1.  War Horse Director: Steven Spielberg Starring: Jeremy Irvine, Tom Hiddleston, Benedict Cumberbatch, Emily Watson, David Kross, Niels Arestrup and Celine Buckens Synopsys:   "Follows a young man named Albert and his horse, Joey, and how their bond is broken when Joey is sold to the cavalry and sent to the trenches of World War One. Despite being too young to enlist, Albert heads to France to save his friend." Release date: 28th December, 2011 One year ago, we already had a big couple of strong Best Picture contenders appearing in films festivals, but it seems that most of the Oscar hopes are in the Christmas season and War Horse is an almost guaranteed December champion! The trailer gives us the smell of something that promises to be epic, touching and beautiful, so War Horse is a natural contender in a big couple of categories, which surely helps it in the Best Picture race. The West-End and Broadway productions of the play (that was an adaptation of a novel) of the
