12 Promising Movies for 2012

(in alphabetical order) The Avengers Director: Joss Whedon Starring: Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Jeremy Renner, Scarlett Johansson, Samuel L. Jackson and Tom Hiddleston Synopsys: " Nick Fury and the international agency S.H.I.E.L.D. bring together a team of super humans to form The Avengers to help save the Earth from Loki and his various membered army ." Release date: 4th May, 2012 (USA) Why is it promising: The biggest Marvel super-heroes in the same movie trying to save the world? Man, how could I not be interested in this one. The lastest Marvel movies were all "very entertaining" movies, real Summer blockbuster quality, and this one is likely to be not less than that. While the movie could easily be a mess, with no major plot line that drives the audiences, I believe it won't happen thanks to Joss Whedon - this man knows how to make a good script and direct an ensemble movie. The Dark Knight Rises Director: Chri...

Academy Awards 2012 nominees final predictions

Well, we will know the Academy Awards 2012 nominees next Tuesday and since both P. and I will be studying for our exams, I post here my final Academy Awards 2012 nominations predictions for almost every category. Since my first predictions (April), the top contenders changed and The Artist emmerged as the unexpected masterpiece, being the front-runner in the Oscar race. Give me your opinion about this predictions, if you want! BEST PICTURE The new rules for the Best Picture nominations may turn the nominees list a bit different from the ones from previous years. While The Artist, The Descendants , Hugo , The Help and Midnight In Paris are locks in this category, mostly due to how loved they are by both critics and audiences, the other possible nominees I predict may look a bit unlikely: Drive is a critics' darling, but it will be the favorite of action movies fans and since Ryan Gosling is in it, the chances are higher; The Tree of Life will be the chosen one from arthouse ...
