Academy Awards 2020 winners predictions: Best Picture, Director, Acting & Screenplay categories (the above the line categories)

It's not an easy Oscar season! And then preferential balloting might change what we think we already know when it comes to Best Picture category. Precursors dictate 1917 is going to win (it took home the PGA, the BAFTA and the Golden Golden for Best Film / Motion Picture - Drama in GG case), but there's a lot of widespread passion for Parasite and I do believe it will get a lot of #1 and/or #2 votes and that's what makes a Best Picture winner. Jojo Rabbit could also upset since the AMPAS loves WWII movies and a good sentimental movie (plus, the guilds clearly loved Jojo Rabbit and let's not forget ALL THE BRANCHES pick Best Picture). Best Original Screenplay will be a tight race between Parasite, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and Marriage Story and I can see any of them winning! The acting categories feel locked to me, except Best Actress and I'm predicting a Johansson upset there! Best Director and Best Picture will split this year, so if Parasite wins, then 1917's director wins Best Director and the same the other way (Jojo Rabbit's director is not nominated, which is a shame, but in that case, Mendes wins for 1917). A Best Picture dark horse: Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, since I feel many people WANT it to win...!
So, just have a look at my Academy Awards 2020 winners predictions:









So, I still have doubts about Best Picture, Best Actress and Best Adapted Screenplay... but I guess I'll stick with this predictions until Sunday and I'll not change them because of peer pressure or Oscar predictions foruns I use to read! Let's see how it goes!

TOP 10 Most Promising Movie Actors (under 30)

Today I discussed about how awful some "teen icons" are and then we talked about some exceptions. So, I decided to make a little list, a TOP 10, with the male actors that I think that will become music in an ocean of noise somewhere in the future (I did one list before, but it was a little bit pathetic and I didn't justify my choices). Academy Awards 2026 nominees predictions: Best Picture, acting categories, screenplays and Best Director (1st ROUND, updated)

BEST PICTURE BEST ACTOR IN A LEADING ROLE Leonardo DiCaprio  is a true movie star and the enthusiastic reception of Paul Thomas Anderson is earning him a ton of rave reviews while the movie seems to be a pretty solid contender in virtually every category at the Oscars.  Timothée Chalamet seems to have landed the a charismatic movie star role in MARTY SUPREME while  Danial Day-Lewis  is acting (and Oscar royalty) and he looks marvelous in ANEMONE trailer.  Jeremy Allen White is fresh from THE BEAR TV series glory and his performance as Bruce Springsteen has already earned him raves (and the AMPAS can't resist a musician's biopic).
