COMMENT: To be completely honest, I don't know what to think about The Great Gatsby... It looks like it could be a more glamorous version of Baz Lhurmann's Moulin Rouge! mixed with a more mature and intriguing Romeo + Juliet, but, at the same time, it looks like it could be a mess (and having this kind of movie in 3D may be completely unnecessary). Maybe the messy trailer scenes are just a rare case in the whole movie and I can't forget how memorable the messy cabaret scenes from Moulin are, but what shines brighter in the trailer is Carey Mulligan & Leonardo DiCaprio chemistry. God, Mulligan keeps surprising me: she looks classy, spoiled and madly in love for DiCaprio (who seems to be immerged in his character too). I can see it as a major contender in the awards race: may not be in the Best Picture category, but I smell some serious potential in Art Direction, Costume Design and Best Leading Actress categories.
