Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards 2017 nominees list - MOTION PICTURE

Actors choosed their favorites and we got some atrocious snubs like Annette Bening for 20th Century Women, Tom Hanks for Sully (but that's ok since Best Leading Actor lineup is just awesome), Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Michael Shannon both for Nocturnal Animals and Janelle Monae for Hidden Figures (who I was expecting to get nominated over Octavia Spencer). Thumbs up for Captain Fantastic who scored Best Leading Actor for Viggo Mortensen and for Ensemble Cast - who knows it turns into a surprise Oscar threat if it manages to get the support of Producers Guild and Writers Guild??? That would be delicious! Sad 20th Century Women scored 0 nods, since it deserved (at least) to get nominated for Ensemble - it scores some of the finest performances of its cast members. And I still thinking about Nocturnal Animals... it scored 0! Is Tom Ford's latest a weaker Oscar player than I think?

TOP 35 Actors and Actresses Under 35 Working Today - 2017

The almost annual TOP 35 Actors and Actresses Under 35 Working Today is out, with me considering the performers' performances of 2016 also. We have a few changes since last year's list, with Greta Gerwig toping the list thanks to her last 3 great performances in Mistress America , Maggie's Plan and the Oscar buzzy acting turn in 20th Century Women . Scarlett Johansson comes second with her latest distinguished performance being in 2014 ( Under the Skin ), but she managed to be at the spotligh this year thanks to her fine turns in critically acclaimed movies: Hail, Caesar! , Captain America: Civil War , The Jungle Book (voice) and Sing (voice). Emily Blunt adds another great performance to her resume in The Girl on the Train and she comes third, while Elle Fanning 's turning into one of the finest actresses and she's getting to play more adult and complex parts like The Neon Demon and 20th Century Women 's (her two best performances since Super 8 ). Today I discussed about how awful some "teen icons" are and then we talked about some exceptions. So, I decided to make a little list, a TOP 10, with the male actors that I think that will become music in an ocean of noise somewhere in the future (I did one list before, but it was a little bit pathetic and I didn't justify my choices). BEST PICTURE BEST ACTOR IN A LEADING ROLE Leonardo DiCaprio is a true movie star and the enthusiastic reception of Paul Thomas Anderson is earning him a ton of rave reviews while the movie seems to be a pretty solid contender in virtually every category at the Oscars. Timothée Chalamet seems to have landed the a charismatic movie star role in MARTY SUPREME while Danial Day-Lewis is acting (and Oscar royalty) and he looks marvelous in ANEMONE trailer. Jeremy Allen White is fresh from THE BEAR TV series glory and his performance as Bruce Springsteen has already earned him raves (and the AMPAS can't resist a musician's biopic).
