Golden Globes 2020 nominations complete list - "MARRIAGE STORY" leads with 6 nods, "THE IRISHMAN" and "OUATIHOLLYWOOD" next with 5

December 9th, 2019 was a great day for Netflix - it got 4 movies nominated in the top categories! Plus, Marriage Story leads the Golden Globes nominations this year - it got 6 nominations, including Best Motion Picture - Drama, but it missed Best Director! On the other hand, The Irishman got 5 nods, but it got all the ones required for a "traditional" win, wich means Best Motion Picture - Drama, Best Director (Scorsese) and Best Screenplay (and 2 noms in the Best Supporting Actor category). Tied with Netflix's The Irishman, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood also got 5 different mentions from the HFPA, but this one competes for Best Motion Picture - Comedy or Musical. So, I guess we've already met the frontrunners of the Golden Globes race... or can Jojo Rabbit upset Tarantino's latest and win in the Comedy or Musical top field?
The biggest surprises: DeNiro's snub for Best Actor in a Motion Picture - Drama; Cats not being nominated for Best Motion Picture - Comedy or Musical (it must be a really bad movie, since the HFPA always goes for "true musicals" but not for this one in particular); Annette Bening for The Report!!!; Bates was able to land a nomination for Richard Jewell, which solidifies her Oscar hopes (and a veteran is always welcome!); no Florence Pugh? I thought the HFPA would want to nominate her somewhere since she had such an incredible breakthrough year; and the all-men Best Director lineup when they had a lot of worthy female directors to nominate this year (Portman is watching, HFPA!).

TOP 10 Most Promising Movie Actors (under 30)

Today I discussed about how awful some "teen icons" are and then we talked about some exceptions. Academy Awards 2026 nominees predictions: Best Picture, acting categories, screenplays and Best Director (1st ROUND, updated)

BEST PICTURE BEST ACTOR IN A LEADING ROLE Leonardo DiCaprio  is a true movie star and the enthusiastic reception of Paul Thomas Anderson is earning him a ton of rave reviews while the movie seems to be a pretty solid contender in virtually every category at the Oscars.  Timothée Chalamet seems to have landed the a charismatic movie star role in MARTY SUPREME while  Danial Day-Lewis  is acting (and Oscar royalty) and he looks marvelous in ANEMONE trailer.  Jeremy Allen White is fresh from THE BEAR TV series glory and his performance as Bruce Springsteen has already earned him raves (and the AMPAS can't resist a musician's biopic).
