Well, fortunatly, The Hobbit will happen and the first part of the movie is currently slated to hit theaters December 2012 and the second one in December 2013.
Let's put an eye on the major facts about this upcoming production:
- Peter Jackson will direct this one (after directing the Lord of the Rings trilogy movies, I think that he's the right man for this);
- Martin Freeman (The Office TV series and Love Actually) will play Bilbo Baggins.
- Richard Armitage (Captain America: The First Avenger) will play Thorin Oakenshield, leader of the Company of Dwarves; Aidan Turner and Rob Kazinsky will play dwarves Kili and Fili; Graham McTavish will play Dwalin; John Callen will play Oin; Stephen Hunter will play Bombur; Mark Hadlow is set to play Dori and Peter Hambleton will be Gloin;
- Ian McKellen is expected to return as Gandalf and Andy Serkis will likely lend his voice and movements to Gollum once again; Cate Blanchett and Hugo Weaving are rumoured to replay their roles as Galadriel and Elrond, respectively;
- David Tennant, who was once rumored for Bilbo, and James Nesbitt are also up for unknown roles;
- There isn't no filming locations confirmed, but it seems that there are some BIG voices that want New Zealand, the same place where the filming of The Lord of the Rings trilogy happened;

So, we must wait a long time to see The Hobbit while eating popcorn, but I wait all the time that's necessary in order to see a new masterpiece from Peter Jackson.
I'll keep following The Hobbit!
