Natalie Portman passes on "Gravity"; "The Way Back"'s and "Blue Valentine"'s movie trailers; Michelle Williams/Marilyn Monroe; Jolie-Pitt on screen?;
- Well, it seems that the audiences won't see Natalie Portman as the leading lady of Alfonso Cuarón's Gravity. According to Collider, "Just when it seemed like Cuarón had nailed a daring and capable actress to help get his $80 million 3D sci-fi film into orbit, Deadline reports that Natalie Portman has backed off. As we revealed last month, Portman was offered the role without having to screen test for it because of her critically praised performance in Darren Aronofsky’s Black Swan. Now Warner Bros. will have to turn towards another bankable actress in an effort to give Gravity some box office pull. Hit the jump for a string of possibilities and the leading lady they are eyeing (...) Sandra Bullock was reportedly waiting “in the wings” if Portman didn’t accept the role (...) Right after reporting that WB and Cuarón are looking at Sandra Bullock to replace Natalie Portman, Variety is reporting that the offer is already on the table".
At the same time, Natalie Portman gave up of the leading role of Pride and Prejudice and Zombies after David O. Russell leaving the project, making Portman's name appearing in the credits only as producer.
- Peter Weir's The Way Back (starring Jim Sturgess, Colin Farrell, Ed Harris and Saoirse Ronan) and Derek Cianfrance's indie movie Blue Valentine (starring Ryan Gosling and Michelle Williams) got both movie trailers (finally!).
The Way Back seems epic! Blue Valentine seems sweet and deep movie with amazing performances from the two leads! Both are must see ones, in my opinion!
- Marilyn Monroe is back, but as the new Michelle Williams' character. The indie actress will portray the cinematic icon in a movie called My Week With Marilyn.
She really looks like Marilyn, but she lacks that powerful sex appeal that The Prince and the Showgirl actress had.
- There is a rumour that says that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie will star alongside each other in the next Darren Aronofsky's project called The Tiger. According to Collider "there are three main characters: “Vladimir Markov, a poacher killed by the tiger; Yuri Trush, the lead tracker; and the tiger himself.” All male characters. Except for maybe the tiger, who I suppose could be a female. (And if Jolie plays the titular character in The Tiger, I imagine I would watch that on a neverending loop.)".
Interesting? Jolie-Pitt partnership was something dazzling in Mr. and Mrs. Smith, so, YES, it is interesting!
