Academy Awards 2011 Best Animated Feature nominees predictions (1st round)

How To Train Your Dragon - with a RT percentage of 98% and with a critics' consensus that says "Boasting dazzling animation, a script with surprising dramatic depth, and thrilling 3-D sequences, How to Train Your Dragon soars", this movie has its place between the 3 nominees for the Oscar of Best Animated Feature pratically guaranteed. Plus, this movie was a big commercial sucess, which increases even more its chances to score the nomination.

The Illusionist (L'illusionniste) - described by some critics as an "animation masterpiece of the new decade", The Illusionist may have its chance in the race for the Oscar of Best Animated Feature. The competition is very strong this year and Toy Story 3 and How to Train Your Dragon have their place between the nominees guaranteed, but The Illusionist may be in advantage in relation to another animated movies because of its traditional animation and because of being extremely beautiful vissually and emotionally.

Toy Story 3 - everybody knows that Toy Story 3 is the strongest contender to take the Best Animated Feature Oscar home, specially when it has a place between the nominees in the Best Picture category. But this movie is more than just a movie, it's also a message to the society and a dazzling and epic adventure of the beloved characters we already know. A critical and commercial sucess that everybody love that hardly won't win this race.

TOP 35 Actors and Actresses Under 35 Working Today - 2017

The almost annual TOP 35 Actors and Actresses Under 35 Working Today is out, with me considering the performers' performances of 2016 also. We have a few changes since last year's list, with Greta Gerwig toping the list thanks to her last 3 great performances in Mistress America , Maggie's Plan and the Oscar buzzy acting turn in 20th Century Women . Scarlett Johansson comes second with her latest distinguished performance being in 2014 ( Under the Skin ), but she managed to be at the spotligh this year thanks to her fine turns in critically acclaimed movies: Hail, Caesar! , Captain America: Civil War , The Jungle Book (voice) and Sing (voice). Emily Blunt adds another great performance to her resume in The Girl on the Train and she comes third, while Elle Fanning 's turning into one of the finest actresses and she's getting to play more adult and complex parts like The Neon Demon  and 20th Century Women 's (her two best performances since Super 8 ). TOP 10 Most Promising Movie Actors (under 30)

Today I discussed about how awful some "teen icons" are and then we talked about some exceptions. So, I decided to make a little list, a TOP 10, with the male actors that I think that will become music in an ocean of noise somewhere in the future (I did one list before, but it was a little bit pathetic and I didn't justify my choices). Let's start... 1 - Ryan Gosling He may not have a huge list of movies in his body of work, but the few times he makes something, all the time he almost carries the movie. In fact, Gosling is a proof that talent does exist and that you don't need excentrical characters to receive raves. He rose to fame after the big screen adaptation of The Notebook (2004) and then received lots of critical praise for his performances in movies like Half Nelson (that gave him an Oscar, a SAG Award and other major awards nominations), Lars and the Real Girl (that gave him a Golden Globe, a SAG Award and other major awards nominations) and Fractur...

TOP 30 Actors and Actress with or under 35 years old: 2012 (revised and updated)

Since my opinion about some of our "young stars" changed, I had to revise this list and, once I was editing it, I decided to have in consideration the actors' and actresses' future projects, which caused some major alterations in the ranking. 1. Ryan Gosling Born: November 12, 1980 (age 31) Breakthrough performance: The Believer (2001) Best performances: Half Nelson (2006); Lars and the Real Girl (2007); Blue Valentine (2010); Drive (2011); Crazy Stupid Love (2011) Oscar recognition: Best Leading Actor for Half Nelson (nom) What's next?  Gosling will have a supporting/co-leading role in Derek Cianfrance's second directorial work (and second reunion with Gosling), The Place Beyond the Pines , to be presented during Toronto International Film Festival and to have a late 2012 US release (maybe in order to get awards' traction). For 2013, he will appear in the delayed Gangster Squad , Nicolas Winding Refn directed Only God Forgive...
